| Love has got the power to recover, enlighten, unite and enrich both our spirit and body, but if you see how low the exchange of love is in the world, the question, “But where are those who really love?” can’t amaze us.
Since the 80’s, the so-called decade of 'self', people approached love like a business transaction, where men and women were reduced to everyday objects, that could be picked up and put down at will. And now that we have entered a more, supposedly, enlightened 2011, it's incredibly sad how many young women are still looking for rich older men to marry.
Italy’s prime minister, when questioned by one of his female Cabinet ministers, joked about the 'marriage of convenience', saying women were lining up to date him because “I’m a nice guy” and “I’m loaded.” Silvio Berlusconi said it was only natural that women were attracted to rich, powerful men of advancing years, suggesting that the thought running through their heads was: “He’s old, he dies and I inherit it”.
Too many women think that rich men are powerful and successful, confident and charismatic. They know what they want, and they go out and get it. Moreover, science is showing that a rich man’s money has aphrodisiac qualities as well as purchasing power.
In 1970, women represented only 43.3% of the labor force, compared to 55.8% today. Moreover, 82% of job losses affect men. Right now in the U.S. many families find themselves economically dependent on one working parent: Mom.
Over 70% of mothers have jobs outside the home. No longer as reliant on men's genes or jobs to ensure the health and wealth of their children, women may come to value other qualities in a mate. Women can choose the men they fall in love with, and then enjoy the benefits that come along with that kind of love.
The majority of people with low self esteems are women. They need to realise how smart, beautiful, and wonderfully made they are, as well as to think of all of the things they are capable of: making and giving life, nourishing a child, being someone's rock and shelter, earning a good living, pursuing education at advanced levels.
Nowadays, western society pressurises women into being beautiful, thin, great mums and hard working, which is why women often feel overwhelmed and incapable in doing all this. They are scared they don't measure up, so many younger women prefer the easier and far less personally fulfilling route of snagging an older, wealthier man. Women need to be taught that it is far better to make it themselves, for themselves! Why should a woman give up the pleasure of real love and generally more satisfying sex with a partner of their choice, as opposed to sacrificing these things for the comfort of someone else's money? Women can make money by relying on themselves; they don’t need a man to provide for them, and choosing an older man just for money, they are sentenced to be satisfied in part only!
Women, let’s wake up, and let’s grow your self esteem!
Don’t wait to get older to realise that the real wealth comes from loving yourself, giving love and being loved in return! |
